One address, two specialized companies: the collaboration between Nedlin and Uniqcare
For over 10 years, Nedlin has been collaborating with sanitary service provider Uniqcare. Together, we offer a comprehensive solution for customers who demand the highest standards not only in laundry services but also in hygiene and safety. Ernst-Jan van der Graaf and Mark Kersbergen from Uniqcare explain the benefits our customers gain from this partnership.
Uniqcare was established in 2005 as a supplier of sanitary dispensers and disposables. Over the years, the company has expanded and deepened its product range, placing increasing emphasis on service and customer support. Today, Uniqcare offers a wide array of hygiene and safety products, characterized by high service levels and extensive expertise to advise customers.
Business card
Uniqcare's services focus on four main themes: toilet hygiene, hand hygiene, clean walkway hygiene, and first aid. "This is more important than you might think," says Director and Co-owner Ernst-Jan van der Graaf. "Toilets, for instance, are the business card of an organization. Relationships see them as the foundation for how everything else is managed. They think, 'if this isn't in order, the rest probably isn't either.'"
Toilets are the calling card of an organization. Relationships view them as the foundation for how everything else is managed.
Uniqcare ensures that everything aligns perfectly, even with Nedlin's clients. Joris Hendriks, Commercial Director at Nedlin Industry, discusses how discussions with new clients often include not just workwear and laundry services, but also hygiene products. "When we discover that a client is looking for a full-service solution or is dissatisfied with their current hygiene partner, we always mention our partnership with Uniqcare," he says.
If the client expresses interest, a joint visit by Nedlin and Uniqcare Account Managers follows, where hygiene practices are carefully reviewed. "We offer this as a separate service," adds Hendriks. "If the client opts in, Uniqcare takes charge of setting up the hygiene solutions. Orders and invoicing are handled through Nedlin, ensuring minimal hassle for the client."
Added value
Mark Kersbergen, account manager at Uniqcare, often engages in discussions with new clients. "It starts with active listening," he explains. "Understanding their needs, identifying areas for improvement, and finding opportunities where we can add value." Based on this assessment, tailored solutions are developed across the board.
"Uniqcare, like Nedlin, is a family-owned business," Kersbergen continues. "We are a relatively small organization, completely independent. Moreover, our process is extremely well-structured, allowing for flexibility and personalized attention." This is evident in our approach to product lines; for example, Uniqcare can provide alternatives in fragrance or industrial soap that better suit the client's preferences.
We are capable of finely-tuned internal distribution, with the advantage that errors are rarely made.
Internal distribution
Uniqcare also distinguishes itself in distribution from other providers. Kersbergen explains, "Nedlin's clients are often larger organizations with multiple stock locations within a single building. We observe that other players in the market deliver to one central point, leaving further distribution to the facility service provider. We are capable of conducting detailed internal distribution, with the benefit that errors are seldom encountered." Of course, this is only feasible when it remains cost-effective, adds van der Graaf. "When entering a partnership, we assess if the pieces fit together. We can configure the situation to fully meet the client's needs in every aspect."
Continuous Improvement
Furthermore, Uniqcare's involvement often introduces a fresh perspective on hygiene. According to van der Graaf, "Traditionally, sanitary services have been undervalued. Yet, for larger organizations, this is a crucial logistical and financial concern. We take on a managerial role. This involves control, insight, reporting, and admission policies. Our approach can lead to cost savings for the client. Just as Nedlin does with clothing management, we constantly assess how to enhance hygiene practices."
Moreover, Uniqcare plays a pivotal role in the supply chain. "This means we also take responsibility for sustainability. Logistics are key, as is the sustainability of our premises. We look at savings, such as reducing paper use. However, the most crucial aspect is the products themselves. Currently, ABS plastic dispensers are common, but we actively explore bio-epoxy or recycled material dispensers. Customers increasingly opt for stainless steel, which is pricier but more sustainable."
Traditionally, sanitary services have been considered a low-valued business. However, for larger organizations, it becomes a significant logistical and financial concern.
One adres, two specialists
Just like clean laundry, hygiene products aren't just about utility; they involve aspects like color, fragrance, and overall experience. Choosing the right dispenser that fits seamlessly into its environment is crucial. Uniqcare's ability to provide tailored advice and service aligns perfectly with Nedlin. Together, we offer a one-stop-shop for clothing, laundry services, hygiene, and safety products—a comprehensive solution with the convenience of a single address, backed by the expertise of two specialized companies leveraging each other's strengths. Hendriks describes it as a "collaboration where everyone wins"—Uniqcare, us, and most importantly, the customer.
