With the new Healthcare laundry, we prove that washing can be even cleaner, more energy-efficient, and smarter. In our new laundry, all the knowledge we have gained over the past decades comes together: in the high-tech production line, the reuse of water and heat, and the latest washing processes. We have demanded the utmost to achieve the best.
Washing can be even cleaner
The new laundry is built according to BREEAM Outstanding standards. All materials of the climate-neutral building are circular and therefore reusable for future generations. Good for the climate and for the sustainability performance of healthcare.
With our own water purification system, all the wastewater from the new laundry and the adjacent Nedlin Hospitality laundry is reused. All the water is filtered using bacteria and the most advanced filtration techniques, removing all microplastics from the water. This keeps the laundry pure and 100% hygienic. The climate benefit? At Nedlin Healthcare, exactly 0 liters of fresh tap water are used per kilogram of laundry, and all residual heat is maximally reused.
Natural ventilation and smart placement of machines, combined with our high hygiene standards, ensure a pleasant, clean, and comfortable working environment. This is not only essential for quality but also enjoyable for our employees.

Washing can be even more efficient
With 2,564 solar panels, the new laundry has a veritable energy factory on its roof. With a capacity of 1.2 megawatts, the laundry operates almost entirely on self-generated energy on sunny days. This results in a CO2 savings of as much as 1,849,321 kg per year, equivalent to planting 55,195 trees.
In the new laundry, the waste heat from ironers, dryers, and finishers is no longer lost but smartly reused. By using heat exchangers to heat the wash water, we thereby reduce gas consumption by over 40%.

Washing can be even smarter
Robot pickers and advanced X-ray scanners for even better sorting and inspection. Camera techniques for recognizing tears and stains. Folding robots for increased efficiency and quality. A dynamic storage system and a chip for each garment. By employing the latest technologies, we can further ensure quality and delivery reliability, while also fully optimizing the working environment.
The new laundry is equipped with an i-Collector: a dynamic and efficient warehouse system that packs and stores linens automatically. Part of the linen is chipped and guaranteed to be delivered in a First In, First Out (FiFo) manner, ensuring higher delivery reliability than usual. Pick errors are almost eliminated thanks to the i-Collector, saving energy, maintaining inventory accuracy, and allowing you to control costs effectively.
