Green Deal
Recovery of waste heat
To minimize the need for energy generation, the laundry intelligently utilizes waste heat. Normally, the waste heat from ironers, dryers, and finishers would be lost through the chimney. Now, this heat is captured by heat exchangers and used to heat water for reuse in the washing process. This helps us save 40% on gas consumption.
Solar panels
Additionally, the new laundry facility has a true energy factory on its roof. With 2,564 solar panels generating 1.2 megawatts of power, the laundry operates almost entirely on self-generated energy on sunny days!
This results in an impressive annual CO2 savings of 1,849,321 kilograms.
Own water treatment plant
The laundry has its own water purification system for cleaning wastewater. We can reuse all wastewater, both from the new and existing laundry facilities. As a result, we will use exactly 0 liters of fresh tap water per kilogram of laundry, filtering for microplastics and employing biological filtration methods.
Energy-neutral business premises
The building is constructed from reusable materials according to BREEAM certification Outstanding standards and is energy-neutral. This means that the building meets higher standards than legal requirements, and certification is issued in various categories determined by a point system on aspects such as: materials, energy, health and well-being, water, and management. Based on the total score, the certification level is awarded as follows:
Pass: > 30%
Good: > 45%
Very Good: > 55%
Excellent: > 70%
Outstanding: > 85%
